The Boy With Two Brains and No Heart
There once lived a boy with two brains,
Which made him a very special being,
He learned very fast for he was smart,
But sadly, this boy has no heart.
Some said it’s a curse,
Some said it’s bliss,
But whichever it is,
He lived in solitary peace.
Until one day,
Out of blue and gray,
As fate and destiny would have it,
The boy and the strangers meet.
The strangers became his friends,
When his skepticism finally came to end,
And they all each played a part,
In giving him a heart.
Soon his heart began to grow,
And much to everyone’s amazement,
He felt joy and he felt sorrow,
No one thought such miracle could happen.
(For he used to be rather cold!)
But alas! His body had too much to bear,
Two brains and a heart were no easy fare,
He grew tired from working them all,
Thus he crumbled and began to fall.
Finally, after many ifs and many buts,
He resolutely locked his heart and kept it shut,
And his friends watched him in dismay and pain,
As he flung the key down a rapid drain.
The friends could only hope and they could only pray,
For the key not to be washed away,
But I strongly believe that somewhere out there,
Knowing him, he would have kept a spare!
