The Federal Constitution of this country guarantees the freedom of speech for all its citizens and the MSC guarantees that there will be no internet censorship in our cyberspace.
How relevant are these now?
Which reminds me of the book entitled 'The Animal Farm' by George Orwell. It is about a new philosophy called 'Animalism' with seven unalterable principles as enshrined in the Seven Commandments.
The Seven Commandments
- Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy.
- Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend.
- No animal shall wear clothes.
- No animal shall sleep in a bed.
- No animal shall drink alcohol.
- No animal shall kill any other animal.
- All animals are equal.
However, most of the animals in the farm are illiterate and cannot remember well. So, by the end of the story, the Seven Commandments have been twisted by the pigs for their personal gains (the pigs are the leaders of the farm, by the way).
- No animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets;
- No animal shall drink alcohol in excess
- No animal shall kill any other animal without cause.
- Four legs good, two legs better.
- All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.
Most of us are not illiterate but I think most of us cannot remember well. We can learn a lot from this book.
